Carcassonne Central mini-expansion by Jonathan Warren
Long ago people lived in fear of a fire-breathing dragon that was said to hunt his prey at
night. Those that were caught out became supper for the hungry dinosaur. It was said
that the creature lived deep within the hills, carrying his prey into the mountains to feast.
Brave adventurers, seeking fame and fortune, attempted to hunt down and kill the
fearsome creature. Few returned, and those that did brought terrible reports back that the
dragon had indeed been found - along with a mate - and the two dragons were not best
pleased at being disturbed!

Dual Dragon requires a copy of The Princess and the Dragon large expansion. Dual Dragon will play better if there is at least two
other large expansions, in addition to The Princess and the Dragon, mixed with the basic Carcassonne tiles. Other large Carcassonne
expansions are: Inns and Cathedrals, Traders and Builders, The Tower, Abbey and Mayor and The Catapult.

In addition to the rules of The Princess and the Dragon large expansion, another function of the Fairy is this:
• The White Dragon cannot enter a tile with the fairy on it. As such, any follower on this tile is protected from the White
Dragon.
1
An alternative to using a Dragon piece is a Count piece, from The Count of Carcassonne, laid on its side.
2
In this expansion the Red Dragon refers to the burgundy coloured Dragon that is included as part of The Princess and the Dragon large expansion.

A player who places a volcano tile must choose to immediately move either the White Dragon or the Red Dragon to this tile
from its current location. The player may not deploy a follower to the tile, but may, according to the usual rules, deploy a
builder or a pig, or move the fairy. At no point may followers occupy the same tile as either the White Dragon or the Red
Dragon.
If either Dragon is not yet in play when a volcano tile is laid, the Dragon that is not in play must be brought into play by
moving him to the tile from the edge of the playing field.

A player who places a dragon tile may deploy a follower or move the fairy as usual. Then the game is interrupted - a dragon
is on the move!
The player who laid the dragon tile must choose either the White Dragon or the Red Dragon to move.
Then, beginning
with the player whose turn it is, each player must move the chosen dragon exactly one tile horizontally or vertically.
The White Dragon or Red Dragon always moves six tiles, irrespective of the number of players, except in the case of a
dead end. It may not move onto a tile twice, and the tile occupied by the fairy is also off limits.
Whenever the dragon enters
a tile occupied by game figures (followers, builders or pigs), they are all returned to the relevant player. If the last thief, knight
or farmer of a player is removed from a road, city or farm, then any builder or pig belonging to the player is also removed
from the feature in question. When the dragon has finished moving, play continues as u
Dead ends: If the dragon moves to a tile from which it cannot continue to move according to the rules above, then its
movement phase is ended prematurely.
Note: Until a volcano tile has been placed, both Dragons remain on the edge of the playing field, and are not moved. If a
dragon tile is drawn, it is placed to one side and the player may draw another tile. As soon as either the White Dragon or
Red Dragon is in play, any dragon tiles which have been laid to one side are mixed into the supply and the game continues as
before.

Question: What happens if it is impossible to move one Dragon (can I choose this Dragon and simply not move a Dragon at all)?
Answer: No. If it is impossible to move one Dragon you must attempt to move the other.
4
Question: Can the White Dragon occupy, or move onto, the same tile as the Red Dragon?
Answer: Yes (and vice versa).
