Track 12: Listening Test for Unit 5
Liz: Because I'm a vegetarian, I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. I like most things, except cucumbers. I don't know why, but they just don't taste of anything to me. My favourite food is mushrooms. I just love all sorts of mushrooms. They are delicious if you know how to cook them properly. I like them best fried in butter, with a little garlic. My favourite fruit is bananas. I just love them! I always have a banana for breakfast. I eat at least two or three bunches a week. I've heard that bananas make you calm. I don't know if that's true, but my friends all say I'm a pretty relaxed person.
Finn: I don't really have a favourite food, but I really like foods like crisps, olives and cheese, things with a lot of salt in them. And I'm a curry addict! I love anything hot and spicy, especially with chilli peppers. I'm a terrible cook, but a Mexican friend told me how to make stuffed chillies, filled with cheese or cooked meat, and fried in hot oil. She serves them with rice and a spicy tomato sauce. Delicious with a nice cold beer!
