Complete Your Shift Standards Planner
How to…
What you need to know
•
The Shift Standards Planner is an important record
of everything that needs to be done in your unit daily,
weekly and each period.
•
It replaces over 25 separate pieces of paperwork and
is designed to help you plan and organise each shift,
week and period.
•
It will also help with shift handovers as each shift
runner will confirm they are taking over their shift
with everything in good order.
•
A very important part of the Planner is completing
any actions, which are identified – or escalating them
to ensure they are resolved as quickly as possible.
•
It is only by completing actions identified that we
can improve and achieve consistently high standards
•
We have legal obligations to meet about security,
safety & food hygiene.
•
We need to ensure our people know what to do
to make our units safe places to eat, shop and work
and give our customers the best experience possible,
so they will come back.
•
Whilst there are many tasks staff carry out, certain
critical safety, hygiene and operational controls need
to be recorded so that;
•
We are clear about the really important stuff we
need them to do operationally
•
We can show our people are doing what they
are supposed to
•
We have an auditable system which our internal auditors,
client auditors & enforcement officers can check.
You are responsible for…
• Carrying out the checks and reviews at
your level honestly and thoroughly and
recording an accurate record of the result
every shift, day and week
• Writing any exceptions or issues or matters
which concern you into the Action Plan
for that day
• Adding any actions not completed
the previous day onto the current day
• Working to resolve any actions that
have been identified
• Communicating and escalating concerns
as appropriate to the person you hand
your shift over to and your line manager
as appropriate
• Advising the next shift runner and line
manager of any issues of concern or of
a personal nature affecting your people
as appropriate
Your challenge…
• Gather any questions or suggestions about
the Shift Standards Planner and send them
to
