Zadanie 1.
1.1.
Woman: Hi, Mum. I know you can’t answer the phone now but I wanted to tell you that the
postman brought the letters you were waiting for. I left them in your bedroom, not
on the kitchen table as usual. You said they’re very important. Anyway, I also
borrowed two books from your library. I hope you don’t mind. See you in the
evening.
1.2.
Robert: Oh, look at that shirt.
Vicky:
Yes, it’s really trendy. How much is it?
Robert: I can’t find the price tag. Here it is… Oh no! £70.
Vicky:
Can I have a look? No, it’s not that expensive. Here…Summer sale, all the prices
reduced by 50%. So, in fact it costs £35.
Robert: Yes, you’re right. Here’s the second price tag. £70 is crossed out and below is
the actual price.
Vicky:
Let’s go to the check out.
1.3.
Woman: Look at those people lying on the beach. What a pity, I can’go.
Man:
Well, it wasn’t a good idea to sunbathe yesterday. Now, you are terribly
sunburnt.
Woman: But I stayed in the sun only for one hour.
Man:
It was enough. If you had gone to the restaurant with us instead of frying in the
sun, we wouldn’t have to stay in our hotel room today.

Man: I just love walking along the paths. I enjoy blooming flowers and singing birds. But
looking after such a big garden can be tiring exercise. You have to be really fit to do
all the weeding, planting and watering. Sometimes I feel like a boxer after fighting six
rounds. But it’s worth it because the place looks like a holiday destination.
1.5.
Woman: How did it happen?
Boy:
Well, after school my classmates and I decided to play football on the school
pitch. While we were playing, my friend pushed me and I fell on the ground.
My left arm hurt and I couldn’t move it.
Woman: Did you or your friends call your parents?
Boy:
No, we didn’t. They would be angry that I didn’t go straight back home.
Woman: Well, I examined your arm. Luckily, it’s not broken. But I’ll have to inform your
parents that you’ll stay in hospital until tomorrow.
Boy:
OK, thank you.
Zadanie 2.
Bill:
Hi, Stella! How are your Christmas preparations coming along? Do you have
presents for everyone?
Stella:
Hi, Bill! Yes, I do. I bought the latest novel by Dan Brown for my sister. She
really wanted it.
Bill:
What about a present for your Dad? Another CD with Latino music for his
collection?
Stella:
Not this time. I want to surprise him so I got him an iPod.
Bill:
Oh, that’s a very expensive gift.
Stella:
Yes, it is. I’ve been saving money since April! And what about you? Are your
presents ready too?
Bill:
Yes, they are. I’m going to give my Mum a chess set. The chess pieces are made
of special kind of wood.
Stella:
Hmmm… I can’t play chess.
Bill:
I can teach you. I learnt how to play from my brother. This year I have an
unusual Christmas gift for him – a hamster.
Stella:
Wow! That’s a cool gift.
Bill:
Yes, I know and the hamster’s so cute!
Zadanie 3.
Man: Attention students! From the 1
st
December you won’t be able to buy any fast food meals
in your school canteen. That’s the decision of the school board. The canteen will now
be serving dishes prepared in the “Green Point” restaurant and transported to school
by canteen workers. The new menu will include boiled fish, grilled meat, baked
potatoes and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. This also means that there won’t be any
unhealthy snacks to buy. The school is putting an end to chocolate bars, crisps and
cola. Thank you for your attention.
Zadanie 4.
