Bread dough
50g (2oz) white bread without the crusts 'A level tablespoon white acrylic paint 1 A tablespoons PVA glue / level teaspoon of glycerine or glycerol You will need:
Smali terracotta plant pot Smali bag plaster of Paris 1 large finger-thick twig from the garden, 200mm (8in) long
1 smali oasis bali Garlic press
Smali flower and leaf cutters 300mm (12in) ribbon Five or six colours of paint induding green
IPush the twig about 38mm (1 l^in) into the centre of the oasis bali. Remove it, put some glue on the end and push it back into the same hole and leave it to dry.
Błock the hole at the bottom of the plant pot with a little crushed newspaper, making surę nothirig can leak out. Mix the plaster of Paris according to the instructions on the packet, and fili the plant pot up to about 25mm (1 in) from the top.
3 Push the end ot the twig into the centre of the plaster of Paris, and hołd it steady for a minutę until the twig can stand straight alone. Don't move the twig around or it will not dry straight. I eave the plaster to set.
Cut off one quarter of the dough and colour it green (see Colouring Bread Dough on page 10). Divide up the rest of the dough and colour it five or six different colours.
SPush some green dough through a garlic press to make grass, and glue some so that it covers the top of the plaster of Paris inside the plant pot. Save any grass you have left over to fili in any srnall spaces between the flowers.
