Salt dough
100g (4oz) plain flour 50g (2oz) table salt 50ml (2fl oz or ’/ cup) water You will need:
Outer cover of ballpoint pen Cardboard tubę, such as those inside kitchen paper
Cocktail stick Kitchen foil
Red, green, gold and white paints
Making Santa Claus
SRoll a smali finger ropę of dough about 350mm (12in) long. Cut twelve arms each measuring 25mm (1 in) long. Gently squeeze the end of each arm between your finger and thumb to make a hand. Make indentations for fingers with the knife.
Cut the cardboard tubę into six equal pieces. Cover each piece, inside and out, with the kitchen foil.
Roli out some dough until it is quite thin. Cut six strips 38mm (1'/in) wide and long enough to wrap around the tubę.
Wrap one strip around each of the tubes, and join the ends of the strip together using a little water. Place the rolls so that the seams are at the bottom.
Make some indentations all the way around the edges with the ballpoint pen cover. Place the tubes on a baking tray.
Wet the underside of the arms, and join them to the top of the rings, leaving a 13mm (Hin) space between The top of each arm.
