Salt dough
22 5g (8oz) plain flour 100g (4oz) table salt 10Oml (4f! oz or ’/ cup) water You will need:
Smali oval baking dish. about 160mm (6Zin) long and 120mm (4'%in) wide Strip ot strong cardboard measuring 410 x 50mm (16 x 2in)
Kitchen foil 460mm Ofyd) ribbon
Roli out some dough until it is quite thin, and cut about 20 strips, 13mrr ()4in) wide. Weave the strips togother (sec Weaving Dough on page 15) to make a lid for the oval dish. Tum the dish upside down on the woven dough and cut around it.
Make a thin twist to fit around the edge of the lid (see Making Twists on page 16). Join the ropę around the edge of the lid and trim off any excess dough.
