100% Wool, each ball = approx 100 m/ 50 g

Knitting needles one pair or one set dpn size 5 mm (US 8) from Schoeller + Stahl
Other materials: 7 buttons
The Jacket is worked in vertical strips in Chevron Pat from left to right, with the edge sts of the
strip work directly onto one another.
Chevron Pat 1: (Left Front Border):
Worked over 12 sts; beg with a WS row
RS rows: 1 selvage st, M1 (insert LH needle into horizontal strand between last st worked and
next st on needle, K through back loop of this strand), K4, SK2P (sl 1 st knitwise, K2tog, pass sl
st over K1), K3, M1, 1 selvage st.
WS rows: Knit.
Chevron Pat 2: (Gauge: 1 Strip = approx 5,5 cm/2 ¼” wide; 24 rows = 10 cm/4”)
Worked over 13 sts; beg with a WS row
RS rows: 1 selvage st, M1, K4, SK2P, K4, M1, 1 selvage st.
K first 3 WS rows, then work all foll WS rows as purl.
Completion in short rows:
Row 1: 1 selvage st, K7, wrap 1 st (wyif sl next st, bring yarn to back, sl same st back to LH needle), turn.
Row 2: Sl wrapped st, P3, wrap 1 st, turn.
Row 3: Sl wrapped st, K to next wrapped st, work the extra wrap tog with st on needle, K1, wrap 1 st, turn.
Row 4: Sl wrapped st, P to wrapped st, work the extra wrap tog with st on needle, turn.
Row 5: Rep row 3, but instead of wrap st, work 1 selvage st.
Row 6: Rep row 4, but instead of wrap st at end of row, work 1 selvage st.
Bind off all sts.
Chevron Pat 3: (Right Front Border)
Worked over 11 sts: beg with a WS row
RS rows: 1 selvage st, inc 1 st, K3, 1 SK2P, K3, inc 1 st, 1 selvage st.
WS rows: Knit.
Selvage sts:
K the first st, slip the last st purlwise. This gives an edge stitch which looks live a v-shaped chain.
Knitting Strips to one another:
With sts on needle and with RS facing, work Chevron Pat to the selvage st, sl selvage st with yarn in back. With the same
needle, pick up the selvage st of the strip already finished and pass the slipped st over it. Turn. Slip the selvage st to RH needle
(with yarn in front) and work WS row.
Instructions:
Front and Back:
Beg with the left border in Chevron Pat 1. Make a strip 87 cm/34 ¼” long (measured without the point), then cont with short rows
and place sts on a holder.
Work the next strip in Chevron Pat 2. When joining the stripe tog on the 2nd selvage st, beg from the lower edge. At 48 cm/19”,
for the neck shaping, discontinue inc at LH side. Cont the center double dec until all sts have been worked.
For Size 44/46 (Large/X-Large) only: Work another strip as before.
On the 2nd and 3rd (3rd and 4th) Strip, complete with short rows. At the 4th (5th) Strip, for the Armhole Shaping, when piece
measures 44 cm/17 ½” in length, bind off from RH side 5 sts once, 3 sts once, 2 sts once and dec 1 st every 2
nd
row 3 times.
Work the 5th (6th) Strip (Back) in reverse, working the dec on the left side.

Work the 6
th
and 7th (7th and 8th) Strips even for the Back and close with short rows.
Work the 8th and 9th (9th and 10th) Strips for the neck shaping 6 rows shorter and also complete with short rows. The center of
the piece is reached. Work the 2
nd
half in reverse. For the Border on the right side (Chevron Pat 3) work 7 buttonholes, the frist
one at 3 cm/1 ¼” (measured without the point), then other spaced 6 cm/2 ½” apart.
Work buttonholes over 2 rows as foll: RS row: 1 selvage st, inc 1 st, K1, K2tog, bind off 2 sts, SKP, K1, inc 1 st, 1 selvage st.
WS row: Knit, casting on 2 sts over bound-off sts. Cont in Chevron Pat 3.
Sleeves:
On the first Strip work the sleeve shaping as foll: Beg with 3 sts. On the first RS row, inc 1 st at left side, then rep inc every 4th
row 5 times more and every 6th row 10 times more = 19 sts. End with the cap shaping, binding off at left side 5 sts once, 3 sts
once, 2 sts once and dec 1 st every 2
nd
row 9 times.
On the 2nd Strip, work decs for cap shaping as foll: dec 1 st every 2nd row 3 times, bind off 2 sts once and 3 sts once. Bind off
rem 5 sts.
Work the 3rd (3rd and 4th) Strip, completing with short rows.
Work the 4th and 5th (5th and 6th) Strips in reverse of the left side with dec for the cap shaping and sleeve incs.
Finishing:
Block pieces to measurements. Sew seams. Weave the open sts of front bands tog. Sew sides to back neck. Set in sleeves.
Sew on buttons.
