Model 113 Murano

Woman’s Jacket

Size 38-40 (Medium)

Materials: Murano from Austermann
51% Wool, 49% Acrylic, each ball = 240/150g
600g in Color 38 rot (red)

Circular needle size 5-6 mm (US 8-10) from Schoeller & Stahl
1 Crochet hook size 5 mm (US H-8) from Schoeller & Stahl

3 Magnet closures from Jim Knopf: Art. Nr. 400 15 04, rot (red)


Basic Pat: garter st (K every row). When working in rnds, K 1 rnd, P 1 rnd.
Domino technique and Short Rows: Work foll Charts 1 to 5 in garter st selvage (K first and
last of every row)
Gauge:15 sts and 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”

Instructions

Right Front :
Piece 1 (Large Square):
Cast on 41 sts and work foll Chart 1. Work rows 4 and 10 on WS as Purl. Keep last st on needle.
Piece 2 (Large Triangle):

Along the LH side of Side Piece 1, pick up 20 sts. Pick up sts between the garter st selvage. Turn. Work back over the 21 sts.
Turn. Beg with the last st, cast on 20 new sts. Work over 41 sts of Chart 2 of Large Triangle. Purl the 4th and 10

th

WS rows, cut

yarn.
Piece 3 (Small Triangle):
Along the Right Side Piece 1, pick up 10 sts to the center. Turn and beg with the last st, cast on 11 new sts. Work in same
principle as Chart 2 over 21 sts for Small Triangle. Cut yarn or: pick up a st in horizontal strand between last 2 sts. There are 2
sts on needle. Pass the first st over the picked up st = dec. Cont in this way to the point. You are now ready to work the small
Square Piece 4.
Piece 4 (Small Square):
Along side of Piece 3 and side of 2

nd

half of Piece 1, pick up a total of 21 sts and work in same principle as Chart 1 for Small

Square.
Piece 5 (Small Triangle):
Pick up 10 sts along RS side of Piece 4 (left side). Turn. Work back. Turn and beg with the last st, cast on 11 new sts. Work in
same principle as Chart 2 over 21 sts of Small Triangle. Cut yarn or:
pick up a st in horizontal strand between last 2 sts. There are 2 sts on needle. Pass the first st over the picked up st = dec. Cont
in this way to the point. You are now ready to work the large Square Piece 6.
Piece 6 (Large Square):
Pick up 21 sts along side of Pieces 5, 4 and 20 sts along Piece 2. Work over 41 sts, follow Chart 1 of Large Square.
Piece 7 (Large Triangle):
Pick up 20 sts along WS of Side Piece 6. Turn and beg with the last st cast on 21 new sts.
Work Chart 2 over 41 sts of Large Triangle. Cut yarn.
Piece 8 (Neck shaping):
Pick up 40 sts along RH side of Side Pieces 6 and 7 (= 1

st

row) and work short rows following Chart 3 in intervals of 5 sts in

garter st as foll:
At row 5: K35 sts, leave 5 sts unworked on LH needle. Turn. Work double st as foll:
With the yarn at front, sl the last st purlwise before turn (35

th

st on this row). Bring yarn to back between needles. Turn work.

There is an extra st on the needle = Double St and K to end of row. Turn.
On next row, K 30, leave 10 sts unworked on LH needle. Turn. Work Double st and K to end of row.
Cont short rows in this way, leaving 5 more sts unworked at each short row, until all sts are used.
K the last WS row, working the extra st at each turn tog with the corresponding st on needle, to close up holes. Bind off.

Back:
Piece 1 (Rectangle):
Pick up 122 sts. Mark the 31st and 92

stitch as center sts for decs and work Rectangle following Chart 4, and work

rows 4, 10, 16 and 20 as purl.
Piece 2 (Square):
Pick up 30 sts from the center to the edge of Side Piece 1. Turn. Work back over these 30 sts. Turn and beg with the
last st cast on 31 new sts. Work over 61 sts following Chart 1 Square, working rows 4, 10, 16 and 20 as purl. Cut yarn.
Piece 3 (Square):
Pick up 30 new sts along side of 2

nd

half of Piece 1 and pick up 31 sts along side of Piece 2. Work over 61 sts

following Chart 1 Square, and work rows 4, 10, 16 and 20 as purl. Cut yarn.

Sleeves:
Sew narrow side left and right front neck of Piece 8 to Back. (= sewing of shoulder seam)
Piece 1:
Follow the diagram, pick up 30 sts along outer side of Backs Piece 3 and 31 sts along Front Piece 7, there are
61 sts in total.
Row 1 (WS): Knit. Turn. Work Short rows in intervals of 4 sts and in Domino technique following Chart 5. Knit
the last WS row, working the extra st at each turn tog with the corresponding st on needle, to close up holes.
Bind off.
Piece 2:
Follow the diagram, pick up 31 sts along Side Piece 1 up to the center.
Turn and at the last st, cast on another 91 sts. Work over 122 sts in same principle as
Chart 4 Rectangle, working rows 4, 10 and 16 as purl. Cut yarn.
Piece 3:
Pick up 60 sts along the long side of Piece 2 and 31 sts
along the second half of Piece 1. Turn. K back
over 91 sts. Turn and at the last st, cast on another
31 sts. Work over 122 sts in same principle as
Rectangle, working rows 4, 10 and 16 as purl.
Cut yarn.
Piece 4 (Border):
Along narrow side of Pieces 2 and 3, pick up a total of 50 sts. Cont in Pat st, dec 1 st each side
every 4tnn row.
When there are 28 sts, cont Pat st without decs.
Pat st:
4 rows garter st,
then *4 rows St st, 6
rows garter st; rep
from *
5 times.




Work other Sleeve in reverse.

Collar
Pick up 152 sts. Work in same principle as Chart 4.
On the first row, mark the 26th and 127

th

sts as center sts for the decs. Work rows 4, 10, 16 and 20 as purl.

When 25 sts on each side have been decreased, bind off the rem 50 sts between B and C.
















Finishing:
With crochet hook, along both Front sides of Pieces 3 and 5, work 2 rows as foll: *1 sc, ch 1; rep from *.
Sew Collar from A over B, C to D to Piece 8 of Fronts and Pieces 3 and 2 of Back.
Sew side and sleeve seams.
Work 1 rnd crab st around outer edge of Collar as foll: working from left to right, *yo hook, insert hook from front into next st and
draw up a loop approx 1,5 cm/1/2” loop; rep from * 4 times more. Yo hook and draw through 10 loops. Complete bobble with ch
1 (the bobble lays on the RS of the row), cont working from left to right, sc in next st*; rep from * to *.

Dampen the edges with steam iron and carefully block to measurements (using a pressing cloth if desired).

Sew 3 magnet closures evenly to Pieces 3 and 5.
