CANYAS
♦ Cut the canvas with the border design, plus an extra border of 5 cm (2 in). Bind the edges.
♦ Outline the brick’s shape; draw horizontal and vertical lines to mark the design’s center.
♦ Spray paint the canvas red.
FOLLOWING THE CHART
♦ Repeat the design on the chart as needed.
♦ Thread needles with the complete color sequence for the interlocking sections, i.e. four red shades graded from light to dark.
♦ From the center, work outwards, stitching all four colors to establish a four-row seąuence.
STITCHING
♦ For instructions, see Stitching, page 138.
♦ Use Madeira 6 Stranded Cotton as supplied.
MAKING THE RED BRICK
♦ See Finishing instructions, page 139. Then cover the brick with polyester stuffing to even the surface. After the canvas is sewn together, slip-stitch some felt to the brick’s underside.
