round glass beads in emerald and dark emerald green
CANYAS
♦ Cut the canvas, allowing a border of 5 cm (2 in). Bind the edges - see Canvas, page 138.
♦ Outline the design with a waterproof indelible marker, then draw central horizontal and vertical lines.
♦ Spray paint the canvas green to unify any color showing through.
FOLLOWING THE CHART
♦ The pattern is created with parallel stitches following in diagonal rows, each row containing 12 stitches. The interlocking rows in one direction are worked in four shades of yellow-green. The interlocking rows Crossing them are four shades of emerald green. The squares are filled with two shades of green beads
to enhance the multi-dimensional effect.
♦ The chart shows the basie design and should be repeated as necessary.
♦ When starting, thread all needles with the complete color seąuence, i.e. eight green shades graded from light to dark. Begin at the center and work outwards, stitching all twelve stitches of each color to establish the base of the four row seąuence.
♦ The colors not being used should be placed to the right of the design so as not to interfere with the stitching thread.
♦ For instructions, see Stitching, page 138. When stitching is complete, sew the glass beads on individually - see Beading, page 139.
♦ Use Madeira Silk doubled.
MAKING THE CUSHION
♦ To complete, see Finishing, page 139.
