CANVAS
♦ Cut the canvas, allowing a border of 5 cm (2 in). Bind the edges - see Carwas, page 138.
♦ Outline the design with a waterproof indelible marker, then draw central horizontal and vertical lines to mark the design’s center.
♦ Spray paint the canvas red.
FOLLOWING THE CHART
♦ The chart shows the basie design and should be repeated as necessary.
♦ Following the design’s center point, begin by stitching the central motif (of which there are nine repeats), leaving the red glass beads until last. Then stitch the four smali diamond shapes around this center motif, continuing to stitch the repetitive top and bottom diamonds establish the main pattern. Follow the chart to continue this repeated pattern and observe the finished cushion to see its precise placement.
STITCHING
♦ For instructions, see Stitching, page 138. For Beading, see page 139.
♦ Use Madeira Metallic and Madeira Decora doubled. Use two strands of Madeira Renaissance Wool doubled.
MAKING THE CUSHION
♦ To complete, see Finishing, page 139.
