ENGINE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION


ENGINE REM0VAL

CAUTION

Do not jack up the motorcycłe by putting thejack under the oil filter.


(2) SPARK PŁUG CAP


Drain the oil from the engine (page 2-3).

Drain the coolant from the system (page 5-3).

Remove the following components:

—    Side and lower cowlings (page 12-3).

—    Fuel tank (page 4-3).

—    Air duet (page 4-7) and carburetor (page 4-8).

—    Drive sprocket cover (page 5-8} and drive sprocket.

—    Water hoses from the water pump and cylinder.

—    Alternator and neutral switch wire connectors (page 8-2).

—    Spark pług caps from the spark plugs.

—    Reserve tank mounting bolts and reserve tank by swing reward (page 5-10).

—    Front ignition coil with the stay (page 17-5).

—    Canister and PCV (California model).


(5) CANISTER


(4) WATER HOSES P(3)PRIVE SPROCKET •


—    Cooling fan (page 5-7).

—    Exhaust pipę (page 12-4).

—    Starter motor (page 18-3).

—    Water hoses and breather tubę from the cylinder head.

—    Clutch cable.

Support the frame and remove the engine bracket mounting bolts and engine mounting bolts.

Swing the front cylinder upward, and remove the engine to the left side.

NOTĘ

• Do not damage the radiator fins.



ENGINE INSTALLATION

NOTĘ

•    Insert all the engine pivot bolt and engine bracket bolts from the left side.

•    Install the lower engine mounting bolts with the collar.

•    Install the upper engine mounting bolt with the cowling stay.

(1) ENGINE PIVOT BOLT/NUT

(2) ENGINE BRACKET BOLTS

(4) ENGINE MOUNTING BOLTS (3) COLLAR
