2.    — lnterrogative Adverbial Pronouns — In questions, one never uses wat or welke and a preposition. Instead, an adverbial pronoun is formed by combining waar (where) and the preposition. What are you thinking about?: Waaraan denkt u? What are they speaking about?: Waarover spreken ze? What are they waiting for?: Waarop wachten ze?

The same forms are also used as relative pronouns. De trein waarop ik wachtte, had vertraging: The train for which I was waiting, had a delay. Het geval, waaraan ik denk, is niet hetzelfde: The case, about which l’m thinking, Is not the same.

3.    — lmperative — In the second person singular and plural the same form is used as in the first person of the present tense. Ik help mijn zoon. Help uw vader!: Help your father! Ik ga met de anderen mee. Ga met de anderen mee!: Go with the others! It is not necessary to add -t in the plural. If you use the older -t plural form, the verb must be followed by the pronoun u. Excuseer me. Excuseert u me. Blijf niet te tang. Blijft u niet te tang. The lmperative form of zijn is wees. Wees niet zo ongedul- ^: digl: Don't be so impatient! In the first person plural, laten we is used. Laten we dat geld niet verspillen!: Let’s not waste that money. Laten we een beetje rustenl: Let's rest a little.
