185 Because C lacks a folio, its text brcaks off after ov(CT in verse 21.

Judging by MetzgeTs commentary (see next notę) the majority of Slavic MSS shared the “pedantic correction" and only K M D C Tf have the 'correct' singular (Cf. the similar 'correctness' of thcse witnesses in the first verse of Saturday 16).

Cf. also Metzger, 1971, p. 580: “The reading ńpeię • • • eopev, strongly supported by both Alexandrian and Western witnesses (...), is to be preferred to upeię . . . eore (...), sińce the latter reading was very naturally suggested by the recollection of lCor. 3.16 as well as by the context (verses 14 and 17), while there was no reason for putting fipelę. . . eapev in its stead. The plural vaoi ( R 0243. 1739 Clement Augustine) is a pedantic correction.” It looks as if the lectionaries U O Z B T, joined by the elsewhere often corrupt R (and to a lesser extent J), were translated from the group of ‘correct’ Greek MSS, and that C and its companions, amongst which now the FALW. had the Byzantine (with 'P and others) as its example.
